- To be a top 10 website you need at least 230 million visitors per month.

- To be a top 50 website you need at least 41 million visitors per month.

- To be a top 100 website you need at least 22 million visitors per month.

- To be a top 500 website you need at least 7.4 million visitors per month.

- To be a top 1,000 website you need at least 4.1 million visitors per month.

What is more amazing is that this information only counts unique visits. A website in the top 1,000 will have less than 1% of the traffic of the most popular website. Although traffic reporting is often found to be inaccurate, the figures should be seen as quite accurate.

This means that information overload is a very real problem for Internet users. There are countless of sites on the Internet – more than you could ever be able to see in a life. People may visit a handful of websites daily, hundreds of websites a year and thousands of websites only once in their lifetime. Thus, many websites have sprung up to offer solutions to this problem. It may be easy to use the most popular websites but the longtail can prove troublesome. Utilizing the many services available often makes it a lot easier to contend with.
